Using As People Say

These draft terms are effective 21 September 2026 and govern the initial test of As People Say. The service is operated from British Columbia, Canada. The operator's full legal identity, address, and final governing-law wording will be added after professional review and before the public launch.

You must be at least 18 years old. You are responsible for your account, for keeping access to your sign-in email secure, and for giving accurate language-ability information. Do not share or transfer an account.

As People Say is a reciprocal language-question network, not a professional translation, tutoring, emergency, legal, medical, or other expert-advice service. Answers express individual speakers' judgments. A consensus result can still be incomplete, uncertain, regional, or wrong, so use appropriate judgment before relying on it.

Human-only contributions

Questions are answered by people. When you contribute, you agree to give your own judgment and writing. Do not submit text generated or translated by AI as your answer, candidate, note, or edit. Ordinary spelling and accessibility tools are fine when they do not create the substance of the contribution.

As People Say does not generate answers with AI and will not sell or license member content for AI training.

Your content and the licence needed to show it

You keep ownership of content you submit. You give the operator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, format, moderate, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve As People Say and its aggregate operational measurement. This licence does not permit public web publication, advertising use, sale of your content, or AI training.

Community questions and resolved results are shown only to signed-in members. A private question is shown only to you and assigned helpers. An anonymous question hides your member identity from other members. These settings do not prevent access by the operator and service providers where needed to run, secure, or moderate the service.

If you delete a question, its visible text and result are removed. If you delete your account, your profile and account link are removed. Structured judgments and candidate answers that are already part of another person's result may remain as de-identified evidence so that their result remains understandable. Free-text notes are deleted. The Privacy notice explains this in more detail.

Only submit content you are allowed to share. Remove names, contact details, and other identifying information from messages written by somebody else, and use the private setting where context is personal.

Asking capacity

Your first question is provided as a starter allowance. Later questions use asking capacity earned by helping other learners, subject to the current rules and stored cap. Asking capacity is a participation mechanism, not money or property. It cannot be bought, sold, transferred, withdrawn, or redeemed for cash.

The service may make audited adjustments to correct errors, reverse abuse, issue a required refund, or keep the system fair. Current prices, expiry, refunds, and closure consequences are shown in the product before they apply.

Acceptable use

Follow the Rules. In particular, do not harass people; post illegal, threatening, hateful, sexual, exploitative, deceptive, or privacy-invasive material; impersonate others; promote services through profiles or content; scrape or automate the service; manipulate results; farm asking capacity; evade restrictions; interfere with security; or use other people's content to train AI.

Do not submit content involving an immediate threat to life or safety. Contact local emergency services instead. If you see a credible threat or illegal content, use Report and contact safety@aspeoplesay.com.

Moderation and appeals

Members can report visible content. Assigned helpers can also flag questions that cannot be answered as asked or appear inappropriate. The operator may hide or remove content, close questions, reverse asking capacity, restrict features, suspend accounts, or close accounts. Consequential actions receive human review.

When the operator takes one of these actions, the affected member receives a plain explanation of what happened, the rule applied, whether automation was involved, and how to appeal. Appeals may be made for at least six months by replying to the notice or writing to appeals@aspeoplesay.com. A different reviewer handles an appeal where practical.

Availability and changes

This is an early test. Features may change, queues may be empty, questions may expire without a useful result, and the service may be interrupted or discontinued. We will take reasonable care in operating the service, but provide it on an as-available basis without guaranteeing a particular answer, result time, or uninterrupted operation.

To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss or for decisions made in reliance on community answers. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

We may update these terms when the service or law changes. Material changes will be dated and communicated before they take effect where appropriate. Continued use after an effective change means the updated terms apply; if you do not agree, you may delete your account.

Ending an account and contacting us

You may delete your account from Settings at any time. The operator may suspend or close an account for serious or repeated rule violations, security risk, legal obligation, or operation of the service, with notice and an appeal route where appropriate.
